About Longer Tails
Longer Tails is the evidence publication of the Pet Longevity Network. Its job is not to make longevity claims sound exciting. Its job is to show what was studied, what was measured, what the result cannot establish, and which question remains open.
01 · Ownership
Shared operations are disclosed.
Longer Tails, Longer With You, and Long Live Companions share operations within the Pet Longevity Network. Longer Tails owns evidence interpretation. Longer With You owns practical and commercial paths. Long Live Companions owns sourced stories and rituals. Cross-publication links are disclosed routes between commonly owned properties, not independent endorsements.
02 · Editorial standards
Sources travel with the claim.
Priority goes to primary research, clinical or professional guidelines, registries, regulators, and direct institutional records. Each material claim should expose the evidence type, species, sample, comparison, outcome, limitations, and source. Animal, laboratory, mechanistic, and observational evidence do not become proof of efficacy. An anecdote can generate a question; it cannot establish cause.
Dynamic records must pass a publication gate: an on-domain canonical, substantive original body, an explicit limitations section, at least two directly relevant citations, approved factual claims, and recorded reviewer provenance. Failed records stay out of public routes and sitemaps.
03 · Review provenance
“Reviewed” is a scoped label, not borrowed authority.
An editorial source check means the citations and adjacent claims were checked by the Longer Tails editorial process. It is not veterinary or clinical review. A specialist is named only when a real person reviewed the stated scope, and the page should say what that review did and did not cover. Organization-only authorship is used when no public individual contributor is attached.
04 · Corrections
Conclusions are not silently rewritten.
Factual errors are corrected promptly. Material updates to a conclusion, regulatory status, trial record, or interpretation should be dated at the affected page. Send the URL, disputed passage, and strongest direct source to editorial@longerwithyou.com.
05 · Media
An image is not evidence of an outcome.
Charts, screenshots, and study figures should retain their source and context. Generated editorial imagery is illustrative, not documentation of a real animal, researcher, clinic, or result. If photorealism could create that confusion, the illustrative status must travel with the image or the image should be replaced.
