Privacy and site terms
Longer Tails collects only what is needed to operate the publication, understand aggregate use, maintain requested email participation, and protect the service.
01 · Collection
Technical use and voluntary participation.
Page requests can create records such as IP-derived region, browser and device information, URL, referrer, timestamp, and errors. Analytics can record page views and interactions. Email forms collect the address, consent, source, and unsubscribe status you submit. Do not send medical records or other unnecessary sensitive information to an editorial form or inbox.
02 · Use
Operate, measure, and protect the publication.
Information is used to deliver pages, maintain requested subscriptions, measure aggregate readership, diagnose failures, attribute disclosed network referrals, prevent abuse, and meet legal or security obligations. Consent to Longer Tails email is not consent to unrelated lists.
03 · Providers
A limited infrastructure set processes data.
Vercel hosts the site, Convex supports application data, and Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and PostHog support aggregate and product measurement. Email and security providers may process the minimum information required for their role. Their infrastructure may operate outside your jurisdiction.
04 · Choices
Optional participation stays optional.
You can read without joining an email list. Browser controls can clear or block cookies and local storage. Subscription messages should include an unsubscribe route. Access, correction, or deletion requests may be limited where retention is required for security or law.

It does not create a professional relationship, diagnose an animal, or tell a reader to begin, stop, or change care. Research discussion does not make a substance approved, safe, effective, or appropriate for human or veterinary use.
